Travel | Portland, Oregon

Hello All,

I just got back from Portland, Oregon last weekend (April 23-24, 2015). This was a trip that I was super excited about. I’ve never been to Portland, so I was nervous about what to expect. Everyone is Portland was very very nice and it was so different from being in Los Angeles, CA. Even though I was only there for one day (this was a side trip to our actual trip to Seattle, WA; more about that later) we ate a lot and got a bit of shopping done. I am hoping to visit Portland, Oregon again later this year. *crosses fingers*

My favorite part about Portland, Oregon is that it’s one of the few TAX-FREE states in the US. This meant that whatever price I saw was the price that I was going to pay. This was amazing. I had some Victoria Secret coupons to use up, so I bought my lingerie there. And I also splurged on a designer bag. I’ve been wanting it for awhile now, but the price was just too much to justify. Having no tax added to the already high price finally tipped me over. I’m so excited to use it!

Please watch the video below to see a small bit of my trip out to Portland, Oregon and Seattle, Washington. Part 2 will be up soon.

XOXO, Vivian

#22 – Reflection

Hello All,

Haven’t posted in a long long long time. I’m so bad at this. But I will try to change that.

During the 22nd year of my life, I’ve learned so much about myself. There were lots of ups but at the same time, lots of downs as well. I’ve learned that I shouldn’t have to tolerate anything that does not positively influence my life. I’ve learned to let things and people go that were just dragging me down and holding me back from being 100% happy. Now, I feel that I am in a much better place. Life is short, so make the most of it. Be positive, and do everything that you want to do that makes you happy.

After my 23rd birthday, I’ve decided to spend my hard-earned money on experiences rather than items. Yes, buying new shoes and new bags makes me happy, but experiences will last me a lifetime. So from now on, I am going to do my best to spend less on items and more on adventures. So far, planning to go on at least two vacations in 2015, going to see Wicked, running my first half marathon and hopefully many more adventures. I really can’t wait to see what the next year will bring to me. I’ll try my best to document it via this blog.

Until next time,
Vivian

Nine West: Authority

Click to buy online: Nine West | Macy’s

Got these in the mail today! These are the Nine West caged booties, Authority,  in black leather. I got them during the friends and family sale last week (30% off!) for about $70 before taxes (originally $99.99). Once I saw them online, I knew I had to have them. I’ve been looking for caged booties that weren’t too tall; these are only 3 inches. I wanted a pair that I could last all night out in if I have to. I’m excited to see how they hold up! Just from a test run of walking around my room, they are very comfortable. I like the lace-ups in front; this makes it adjustable if my feet get swollen from standing in them all day. (: which hopefully won’t happen. 3 inches is a  pretty short for me, since I normally wear 4-6 inch heels depending on the event. I can’t wait to wear them out to vegas next month!

2014 has been upon us for over 3 and a half months. It’s time for a change. This year is about improving myself; intellectually, socially, and even physically.

I originally started this month by doing blogilates from YouTube. And while Cassie is a great trainer, I just don’t have the motivation and mindset to keep going once I stop. I stopped after about a week and a half of doing her workouts (which kicked my butt every day). And even though my body was screaming in pain, it felt good. My body hasn’t felt that sore in years. But the discipline to keep going was difficult. So instead, I am “punishing” myself (not really..) by joining the gym! It’s going to cost me money to go so I will be forcing myself to go that way. I hate to waste my hard-earned money if I don’t go. I also signed up for yoga and plan on doing Blogilates to supplement the gym work outs. (: hopefully this will stick ad I will be on my way to a better looking and healthier self.

Wish me luck!

Miniature Lipsticks

Aren’t they just adorable??? So cute!!

image

I’ve slowly been just getting miniature lipsticks or “deluxe” samples of these lippies. They are just so adorable I couldn’t say no..although they don’t really get much use. They just feel so small that I will use it up in really fast or run out after finding out how much I love them. Haha Eventually, I will get around to using them but for now, they are just so cute to look at. 😆

March 2014 Ipsy Bag

For this month, I got 4 items. 1. Pixi primer 2. Nyx eye shadow pallette 3. A blue liquid eyeliner and 4. A Bare Minerals lipstick

My favorite item out of the four would have to be the lipstick. I am a lippie junkie and can’t resist a good lipstick.

The color seems to be one of those “my lips but better” or mlbb lipsticks. I can’t wait to try it out!

Not too fond of the eyeliner or the primer. I don’t know, just never really been into the colored eyeliners. And I already have so many different kinds of primers, do I really need another one. But it’s always good to keep trying new things so I will give it a try and see how that goes.

Good-bye 2013, Hello 2014

Cannot believe that it is already 2014. I swear that it seemed like it was just yesterday that we were ushering in 2013. This year has been amazing. Celebrated in 2013 with my amazing friends.

2013 was definitely a memorable year. I turned 21 in 2012 but 2013 was the year I really lived it and got addicted to going to Las Vegas. If I could, I would go once a month! I graduated from UCLA! And prior to graduating, I was one of the lucky and very grateful ones to have landed a job BEFORE graduating. Started working basically right after graduating and met some amazing coworkers who make the worklife so bearable. (: I also moved out of living in an apartment to living in a house with new roommates who I adore and love. Even though I don’t have much I common with them, we still have lots of fun together. (: If 2014 is anything like 2013, I am grateful to have these friends in my life.

My resolution for this upcoming year is to learn to live a little. Basically, to just go out and have some fun. Get out of this grandma-slump that I have been in for the past two years. I’ve worked so hard to get to where I am that I have earned it. It’s time to put the quote “work hard, play harder” to work.  It’s time to stop worrying about others and worrying about myself. (: I can’t wait to see what 2014 has in store for me.

Happy 4 Year Anniversary!

Today, 4 years ago, we got back together. So if you count it from the beginning, we’ve been together for almost 5.5 years, but we don’t count the first time around. If it’s meant to be, we’ll get back together right? So right. Sadly, we got back together when we went to college..which meant being about 120 miles apart from each other. I went to UCLA and he went to UCSD. Let me tell you, long distance SUCKS so effin’ much..but somehow we are making it. He’s still in school cause he’s doing a fifth year and I can’t wait for him to graduate and we can figure out how to be closer together.

He’s been my rock; holding me down through everything. Even though we bicker and argue a lot, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Because the way I see it, even though we argue a lot, to me it means that we are trying to better each other by not just agreeing to only one way. There have been a lot of sacrifice and compromises that have been made over the last two years. But I think that has made us a stronger couple. Being in a long distance, we try to enjoy the few weekends that we can spend together. We cherish it that much more. But since it’s his last year in college, we won’t be able to see each other as much because I want him to succeed and graduate on time. It’s going to suck, but we’ll make it through. I love him more than anything. He is my best friend, my rock, my mr. honeybear, and my person. Happy 4 years babe! I love you!!

Post-grad Vegas Trip

The boyfriend surprised me with a vegas trip that he had gotten on a deal with Hilton in June. We stayed at the Hilton Elara, in their studio suite, which was still amazing. This was my third time staying there, and I believe that Elara is a hidden gem in Vegas. It’s in the center of the strip, on the corner of East Harmon and Las Vegas Strip. Across the street from the Cosmopolitan, inside the Miracle Mile Mall. In the mall, there’s Fat Tuesday and Earl’s Sandwiches. Everything is in walking distance! And the rooms are super nice, even our studio suite came with a queen sized pull out bed. During this trip, it was so HOT. Seriously, like 120 degrees everyday…so we didn’t go out much. We tried to go out at night or walk inside the buildings so that we had AC. It was just a chill and relaxing weekend getaway with the boyfriend. I can’t wait to go back again for more!

Graduation, the start of a new chapter in my life

In June, I graduated from UCLA (whoot GO BRUINS!!), class of 2013. Although I have no idea what I want to do in life, I am glad to have my friends and family by my side to go along with the adventure. They are the best support I could ever ask for, even though they drive me crazy sometimes. But hey, isn’t that family does.
